We are facing a state of climate emergency in which water resources are increasingly scarce. Many regions suffer from this situation, and it is particularly critical in areas such as the Mediterranean Basin. This area is experiencing warming at a rate that is 20% faster than the global average, and according to the UN Environment program, it is predicted that by 2050 the demand for water will double or even triple, while the precipitation between 10 and 15% while increasing global warming by 2°C. All these forecasts endanger current irrigation practices in agriculture.
In this context, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech and the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda, invite you to participate in this event dedicated to promoting sustainable management of water resources, with a threefold purpose:
- Explore the opportunities offered by technologies and how they can contribute to a more sustainable management of water resources.
- Create a space of trust where the different actors participate in the definition of the digitalisation strategy for agricultural irrigation.
- Facilitate the exchange of knowledge, good practices and strengthen collaboration between producers, companies, knowledge and institutions.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the future of water resource management in our territory.
